HAKIM SINGH v. MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI AND ORS.

Delhi High Court directs MCD to decide disabled vendor's COV category conversion request within two months

The court disposed of the petition, directing the MCD Assistant Commissioner to hear the petitioner on 2 November 2026 and decide his 24 September 2026 representation within 2 months. Meanwhile his site is to be inspected, and he is not to be disturbed if he can continue vending there.

Why it matters: Taking an empathetic view of the vendor's locomotor disability, the court gave interim protection from disturbance while his representation is pending.
